| Journals The collection of journals constitutes nowadays about 1400. From about 200 of them on display, 85% of which have been received through the exchange and 15 % through subscription and memberships. There is also a wide variety of issues from the past. The most important European journals are generally represented from the volume 1, along with their possible predecessors. Among them: Entomologist's Monthly Magazine; Entomologist's Record and Journal of Variation; The Entomologist; Entomologist's Gazette; Proceedings of the Zoological Society of London ; Entomologisk Tidskrift; Mitteilungen der Münchner Entomologischen Gesellschaft; Deutsche Entomologische Zeitschrift "Iris"; Entomologische Zeitschrift mit Insektenbörse; Verhandlungen der k.k. zoologisch-botanischen Gesellschaft Wien; Zeitschrift der Österreichischen Entomologischen Gesellschaft; Wiener Entomologische Zeitschrift; Zeitschrift der Arbeitsgemeinschaft Österreichischer Entomologen; EOS Revista Espanola de Entomologia; GRAELLSIA - Revista de Entomologos Ibericos; Horae Societatis entomologicae Rossicae; Transactions of the American Entomological Society; Journal of the Bombay Natural History Society and others. Publications of Royal Entomological Society of London (Transactions, Proceedings etc.) are of a special interest, since they are fully represented in the library in all the variety of series from the middle of XIX century. The same is true for publications of Société entomologique de France (Bulletin and Annals) as well as for those of Société Entomologique de Belgique (Annals, Bulletin, Memoirs) with series. As for the series of Alpinist year-book (Alpenvereinsjahrbuch), it has been published for many years with maps, included on separate sheet. They are not generally available in second-hand bookshops, since they have been used in trips by initial owners, who did not always put them back. For this series, which is stored under the D/72, maps have been purposely searched and added, thus making the run complete. The series D/82 - D/141 - D/149 - D/151 - D/152 concern medicine. The series D/124 - D/140 concern ornithology. Special attention should be paid to series, which have been published locally in small numbers. Many re-started and new publications after the World War 2 have been hectographically printed in bad conditions, thus not having an appearance, which would attract the attention of bibliophile. These publications, which are now difficult or impossible to buy, have been valued in the library the most. All the journal can be searched by journal catalogue. The availability of each journal is represented in the computer database, so the necessary issue can be immediately called. Journals are ordered by countries. For each journal there is a special signature applied. The signature of journal consists of:
