|Specialized Journal of Entomology
The specialized entomological journal Entomofauna with its supplemental series has been founded in 1980 by Maximilian SCHWARZ and appear in about 500 pages per year. It serves for publication of scientific works on taxonomy, faunistics, biology and ecology from the entire field of entomology. Most of the publications are in German, some are in English and only few in other languages. Each work is published as a separate issue. Separate issues appear irregularly with the last one in December, 31st. Content issue, which also lists newly described taxa and taxonomic changes, closes the year. The basic concept of regularly published journal has shown its vitality on the course of quarter of century. The external appearance (format 16x22 cm) with its recognized logo has been kept for years, although the design and font have been constantly modified and improved.
At the occasion of the 30st volume of Entomofauna the following publication on the history of this journal appeared:
DILLER, E. & F. GUSENLEITNER & W. SCHACHT & M. SCHWARZ & T. WITT - 2010. Die Zeitschrift Entomofauna - 30 Jahre erfolgreiche Kooperation. - Entomologica Austriaca 17:171-194.
